# Plan Features and Tiers

> Which calculators and features are available on each Calcs.com subscription plan, what you see when something is plan-gated, and how to upgrade.

Some Calcs.com calculators and features are gated behind specific subscription plans. If a calculator tab or input is greyed out or shows a lock or upgrade prompt mid-workflow, the most likely reason is that the feature lives on a higher plan than the one you're currently subscribed to. For example, the **concrete beam design tab** is part of our **Pro plan**, so it won't be accessible on a lower-tier subscription.

## What's available on each plan

Plan inclusions change as we release new calculators and features, so the authoritative list of what each plan unlocks lives on the [Calcs.com pricing page](https://calcs.com/pricing). At a high level, lower tiers cover analysis and the most-used wood, steel, and concrete member calculators, while **Pro** adds the broader concrete suite (including the concrete beam design tab), advanced lateral and foundation calculators, and additional region-specific code modules. Region-specific (US, AU/NZ, CA, etc.) calculator availability also varies by plan — check the pricing page for the current breakdown.

## What you see when a feature is plan-gated

When you open a calculator or tab that isn't included in your current plan, Calcs.com doesn't silently fail — you'll see an **upgrade prompt** or a locked-tab indicator that names the plan required to unlock it. Inputs in a gated tab are typically disabled, and any linked outputs flowing into that tab won't compute until the plan is upgraded.

If you've opened a project shared with you that uses calculators outside your plan, those calculators will still display their existing inputs and results in read-only form, but you won't be able to edit them or run new analyses against them until you upgrade.

## How to upgrade

Go to **Account & Admin → Billing → Subscription** and choose **Change Plan**. Select the tier that includes the calculator or feature you need, confirm the prorated charge, and the new features become available immediately on the same account — no re-login required.
