# Which Platform Am I Using?

> The HSS connection calculators run on two platforms. What is the same, what differs, and how to read the availability box on every page.

The HSS connection calculators in this section run on two platforms. The calculators themselves are the same software. The portal around them is not.

## Which one are you on?

Both are built by Calcs.com. The Connections Hub is the Atlas Tube branded edition, offered free to engineers designing with HSS.

## What is identical

Everything inside a calculation:

* The calculation engine, the equations and the code references
* Inputs, presets and connection configurations
* Limit states and how utilisation is reported
* The live connection diagram
* Load combination generation and ASD or LRFD handling

An article about a calculator applies to you whichever platform you are on, as long as that calculator is listed as available to you. That is what the box at the top of every page tells you.

## Reading the availability box

Every page in this section opens with a box like this one:

**Where you can use this** lists the platforms the feature is live on, each linking to that platform's sign-in page. If only one is listed, the feature is not available on the other yet.

**Status** is one of:

| Status                          | What it means                                                                                           |
| ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Released                        | Fully validated and generally available                                                                 |
| Beta                            | Implemented and usable, still in validation. Check governing results independently                      |
| Released, with features in beta | The calculator is released but a named part of it is still in beta. The note underneath says which part |

**Region** is the building standard the calculator is written to. **Design codes** lists the standards it references.

  Beta means the calculation runs and the limit states are implemented, not that the numbers have completed validation. On a beta calculator, verify governing results independently before issuing.

## A calculator I need is not available on my platform

Calculators reach the two platforms at different times, usually Connections Hub first for HSS connections. If a calculator you need is listed as Connections Hub only, a [free Connections Hub account](https://connectionshub.atlastube.com/login/organisations?src=CALCSDOCS) gets you access to it today.
