# Calcs.com Release Notes — November 24–December 5, 2025

> Major updates to steel connections, IBC 2024 support, and builder workflow enhancements.

## What's New & Improvements

### **Engineering Calculators:**

* **NEW! - IBC 2024 / ASCE 7-22 🇺🇸:** Implemented new load combinations with updated snow load factors reflecting the ASCE 7-22 reliability-targeted approach (LRFD factor 1.0, ASD factor 0.7). Documentation has been updated to clarify this transition.
* [**Steel Beams**](https://calcs.com/calculators/steelBeamASD) **🇺🇸:** Fixed missing cantilever bracing warnings - they now appear correctly when your beam configuration requires bracing.
* [**Wood Beam**](https://calcs.com/calculators/timberBeamASD) **🇺🇸:** Improved one-page print layouts for Wood Beam templates by hiding intermediate calculation factors (like load duration) to create cleaner, more readable summaries.
* [**Wind Loads (AS/NZS 1170.2)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/loadsWindAS1170-2-2021) **🇦🇺 🇳🇿:** Fixed critical logic for impermeable structures where dominant opening ratios were incorrectly calculated; the ratio now correctly sets to zero.

### [Atlas Tube Connection Hub](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/)

* [**WF Column Capacity Fixes**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇨🇦: Corrected WF column capacity calculations for local yielding and buckling in **HSS-to-WF moment connections**.
* [**HSS-to-HSS Shear Connections**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇨🇦: Corrected eccentricity calculations for coped beam and shear cut sections.
* [**End Plate–Side Angles**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇨🇦: Enhanced with updated limit states, new bending/buckling calculations, and revised sidewall yielding resistance equations.
* [**HSS Trusses**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Unified weld calculations across templates, adding comprehensive base metal evaluations and strength-per-unit-length assessments.
* [**Shuriken Bolts**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸 🇨🇦: Standardized spacing requirements across various templates, enforcing a minimum 3-inch spacing with dedicated validation widgets.

### [Calcs Builder](https://calcs.com/builder)

**NEW — We’ve opened up several previously internal-only tools**, including the new Builder layout, Review Mode, and more. Other enhancements include:

* **Simpler, smarter sidebar**
  * Hidden widgets now use a small “bounce” animation so they’re easier to spot when toggled.
  * The sidebar highlights sections based on your scroll position, so you always know where you are.
  * Added keyboard shortcuts (Cmd/Ctrl+1–4) to quickly jump between pages.
* **Review & combine in one place**
  * Review and Combine modes now work together with the sidebar to show only the widgets and sections that changed.
  * You’ll see comment counts and can toggle visibility for changed items directly from the sidebar.

## New Help Articles
