# Calcs.com Release Notes — June 16–30, 2026

> Concrete Beam torsional design, a new NBCC 2020 Wind Loads calculator, Internal Double Gusset out of beta, and field-level accept in Combine Mode.

## Engineering Calculators

### 🚧 Coming Soon

* 🚧 **`NEW CALCULATOR COMING SOON`** **Wind Loads (NBCC 2020)** 🇨🇦: Introduced a new Wind Loads Canada calculator with a climate data shared table sourced from NBCC 2020 Appendix C, covering design temperatures, snow, wind pressures, and hourly reference wind pressures for Canadian locations.
* 🚧 **`NEW CALCULATOR COMING SOON`** **Seismic Analysis (NBCC 2020)** 🇨🇦: Added seismic hazard inputs and design spectral acceleration S(T) calculation, including code-based period estimation for multi-storey and single-storey buildings with special cases for steel deck diaphragms.

### 🛠️ Improvements & Fixes

* [**Concrete Beam (ACI 318-19)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/concreteBeamRectangularUSAACI318-19) 🇺🇸: Added full torsional strength design including threshold and cracking torsion checks, transverse and longitudinal reinforcement capacities by beam zone, longitudinal bar sizing, section limits, and combined shear–torsion stress checks, with torsion inputs now gated correctly on stirrup selection.
* [**Concrete-Filled Column (AISC 360-22)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/concreteFilledColumnUSAAISC360-22) 🇺🇸: Fixed a bug where dead axial load was being double-counted when using individual load inputs, added dual-axis flexural buckling for rectangular HSS sections with unequal width and depth, corrected AISC I2 equation citations, and clarified that longitudinal reinforcement is out of scope.
* [**Wind Loads (ASCE 7-22 and ASCE 7-16)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/windLoadsUSAASCE722) 🇺🇸: Added a computed gust effect factor (G) for rigid buildings per Cl. 26.11 so that G now defaults to `max(G_calc, 0.85)` instead of a fixed 0.85, added tornado MWFRS Directional Procedure pressure calculations for walls, roofs, and parapets per ASCE 7-22 Chapter 32, and applied the Cp roof reduction factor per Fig. 27.3-1 footnote b for large tributary areas.
* [**Wind Loads (ASCE 7-16)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/windLoadsUSAASCE716) 🇺🇸: Added the internal pressure reduction factor (Ri) for large-volume unpartitioned partially enclosed buildings per Cl. 26.13.1, plus per-zone effective area inputs for roof overhangs and per-zone parapet height inputs in the Components and Cladding method.
* [**Project Defaults (Canada)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/projectDefaultsCanada) 🇨🇦: Extended support to NBCC 2020 and NBCC 2025, with ULS/SLS load combinations, importance factors, and a storage live load toggle that now vary by edition. Existing NBCC 2015 selections are not silently remapped.
* [**Steel Beam (AS 4100:2020)**](https://calcs.com/calculators/steelBeamAS4100-2020) 🇦🇺: Added a clear warning when a custom linked section is not a non-composite I-section, resolving unexpected errors reported through support.

## Atlas Tube Connection Hub

### 🚀 New Features

* [**Steel Connection Column Bracing (AISC 360-22) — Internal Double Gusset**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Released the Internal Double Gusset (IDG) connection out of beta, corrected block-shear references to cite AISC 360-22 Section J4.3 first, broadened beam and column material references to include ASTM A500 and A1085 for HSS use, and added per-gusset-plate capacity notes to prevent confusion with total demands.

### 🛠️ Improvements & Fixes

* [**HSS Beam-to-HSS Moment Connections (AISC 360-22) — Field-Welded**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Extended the Field-Welded connection to support beams on two sides (X-connection) with full column and beam axial capacity checks per DG24 2nd Ed. Table 9-2, corrected chord wall plastification and punching shear equations, and fixed an incorrect effective width upper limit.
* [**HSS-to-HSS Splice Column Connections (AISC 360-22)**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Added bolt and weld shear limit states for square and rectangular end-plate connections, corrected the total bolt count for four-sided bolt patterns, and fixed a dynamic diagram bug.
* [**HSS Beam-to-HSS Shear Connections (AISC 360-22) — End Plate / Face Plate**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Updated load input descriptions, added connection-specific reference diagrams for the End Plate–Face Plate connection, and removed the axial loads beta disclaimer for that connection type.
* [**HSS Beam-to-HSS and HSS Beam-to-WF Moment Connections (AISC 360-22)**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Renamed the weld length label to "Effective Total Length of the Weld" for consistency across connection types.
* [**Steel Connection Column Bracing (AISC 360-22) — External Double Gusset (beta)**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇺🇸: Completed angle bolted-connection limit states covering eccentric bolt shear, bearing/tearout, and block shear, and routed gusset plate checks through the same double-gusset approach as IDG with half demand per plate.
* [**HSS Beam-to-WF, HSS Base Plate, and WF Beam-to-HSS Moment Connections (CSA S16:19)**](https://www.atlastube.com/hss-connections-hub/) 🇨🇦: Renamed demand labels from "Maximum" to "Factored" in summary sections for clarity.

## Calcs Builder

### 🚀 New Features

* **Combine Mode — JSON Merge View:** Introduced a JSON view in Combine Mode that resolves template differences at line and field granularity using a CodeMirror unified merge editor, with "Accept incoming" and "Keep current" controls, keyboard undo, and the ability to save the merged result directly back to the current template or download it.

### 🛠️ Improvements & Fixes

* **Combine Mode — Field-Level Accept:** Expanded the field-level accept surface in the Widgets view so that engineers can accept or revert individual changes to scalar fields, equation rows, table columns (per sub-field), widget checks, and remaining attribute types like rich text, data tables, selectors, and diagrams, with an accurate "N of M resolved" counter that no longer silently excludes attribute types.
