Work on calculations that buildings depend on

We build the calculations structural engineers use to design buildings, and we show every formula and code clause behind them. Engineers created more than 81,000 projects on Calcs.com in the last 12 months. A small team across Melbourne, Bogota, and Toronto builds it.

Why this work matters

An engineer inherits a spreadsheet they did not build. The logic is buried, the standards references are gone, and before they can review the work they have to reconstruct it. That is the quality assurance process at most firms.

Calcs.com replaces it. It is a standards-aligned calculation platform for structural engineers, manufacturers, and standards bodies, built to US, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, and Eurocode standards.

Every calculation shows its inputs, its formulas, and the specific clause it applied. A reviewer evaluates judgment instead of rebuilding someone else's working. Since 2016, engineers have created more than 13.5 million designs on Calcs.com.

How the team works

Calcs.com is a small team shipping to engineers who rely on the results in real designs. That shapes how the work is organized.

Ownership over process

You own outcomes, not tickets. Everyone contributes, whether that is shipping a major feature or taking out the bins.

Small teams, real autonomy

Features ship in weeks, not quarters. There is no committee between a good idea and a released change.

Correctness is not negotiable

Standards differ by region and engineers rely on these results in real designs. We test accordingly, and we say so when we get something wrong.

Distributed by default

The team works across Melbourne, Toronto, and Bogota, so written communication and async decisions are the norm.

Calcs.com opens roles across engineering, software development, product, marketing, customer success, sales, and operations. If none of the open roles match, tell the hiring team what you want to work on.
