Atlas TubeAtlas TubeWhere you can use this: Atlas Tube HSS Connections Hub onlyStatus: Released
The HSS Connections Hub is Atlas Tube’s free platform for designing hollow structural section connections. It is powered by Calcs.com, so the calculators behave the same way as calculators elsewhere on the platform: live inputs, expandable calculations, code references on every line, and exportable reports. The Hub brings together three things.

Typical details

A library of fabrication-ready connection details in PDF, DWG and Revit (RVT) formats.

Connection calculators

Design and check HSS shear, moment, splice, truss, bracing, base plate and composite column connections to AISC 360-22.

Engineering support

Access to Atlas Tube’s HSS engineering team when a connection falls outside what the calculators cover.

Get Started

Create a free account, set up a project and run your first HSS connection calculation.

Calculators

Every calculator in the Atlas Tube HSS Connections Hub, by connection family and region, with a link to its guide.

Work with Calculations

Export Reports and Typical Details

Export PDF calculation reports with your company logo, and download typical connection details in DWG, Revit and PDF.

Bulk Import Calculations from Excel

Create many connection calculations in one go by importing a filled-in Excel template.

Link Column Bracing to Shear Connection Calculators

Pass member properties, design method and demands from Column Bracing and Cast Connex bracing sheets into HSS and WF shear connection calculators.

HSS Availability

See how easily an HSS section can be sourced while you are still choosing it, in the member selector and next to the selected member.

Video introduction

The full HSS Connections Hub playlist on the Zekelman Industries channel carries the walkthroughs, the webinars and the monthly Connection of the Month series. Individual videos are embedded in the articles they relate to.

Who it is for

Structural engineers detailing HSS connections in the United States, working to AISC 360-22, the AISC Steel Construction Manual (16th edition) and the AISC Design Guides, mainly Design Guide 24 for HSS connections. Accounts are complimentary. Sign up at connectionshub.atlastube.com.

What is covered

The calculator library spans the following families. Most have their own article; those marked coming soon do not have one yet. The full calculator list shows every calculator by region.
New connections and feature updates are released roughly every two weeks, so this list grows. Articles marked Beta describe calculators that are released but still being validated.
