Editor Sectional Work

This category contains all tasks that typically require code knowledge and research. All technical work falls under this category and should have a respective sprint ticket assigned. Most templates can be broken down into sections based on the required calculations needed for the template to be functional as a complete product.

Example: CA Steel Columns

For CA Steel Columns, the following sections are needed:

• Pure Axial Compression Capacity
• Slenderness Classification
• Local Buckling Effects
• Bending Capacity
• Combined Axial Compression and Bending Interaction
• Lateral Torsional Buckling

Workflow

For each respective section, there should be an assigned sprint ticket. When completing the sprint ticket, you should only work within that specific section. When the section is complete, it should include:

• All relevant equations
• Checks
• Units
• Visibility statements
• References

The order of sprint tickets to be completed should have been outlined to be logical. For example, the combined axial compression and bending section cannot be completed if the bending section is not finished prior. When the section is complete, move the sprint ticket to “done” in ClickUp.

This process makes it:

1. Easy to review and validate
2. Easy to keep track of template development progress
3. Easy to fix errors and bugs

By completing work section by section, template development becomes linear and clear. Additionally, you can theoretically assign different sections to different people to work on and merge them together after. This prevents merge conflicts, assuming the same base variables are used.
