Product Manager

We are looking for a Product Manager who thinks and operates like a founder. Someone who gets energy from creating new products, finds clarity in ambiguity, and thrives on turning loose ideas into something real that customers depend on. If you love the earliest stages of product building and want to help shape the future of engineering software, you will thrive in this role.

At Calcs.com we are building the future of engineering design, and your work will help define how that becomes real. Calcs.com is transforming how engineers work, replacing outdated spreadsheets and clunky tools with a fast, flexible platform built for how engineering teams actually design. Thousands of engineers across North America and Australia already rely on us to power tens of thousands of projects each year. With strong adoption through our product-led growth engine and a growing enterprise motion supported by industry-shaping partnerships, we are entering our next chapter of rapid scale.

This is not a standard Product Manager role.

You will help transform Calcs.com into the definitive platform for engineering design - creating a digital representation of an engineer's mind, and changing how millions of projects are designed and built globally. With a deeply engaged user base, the opportunity is not just to build new features but to elevate the entire workflow engineers use every day. You will shape how teams design, document, collaborate, and gain confidence in their work.

You will sit at the centre of our product ecosystem, owning an early-stage product area while collaborating closely with Leadership, Design, and Engineering to drive cohesion, trust, and usability across the platform. Your work will impact speed, accuracy, and the daily effectiveness of engineers across multiple regions.

We care more about what you have built than where you have worked. Whether you are a seasoned operator or an ambitious builder early in your journey, if you move fast and think like an owner, we want to meet you.

What you will do

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for a key engineering workflow area, with clear goals and accountability for results
  • Build 0 to 1 products that engineers love, shipping early and improving constantly rather than waiting for perfect information
  • Help modernise and unify the Calcs product experience by collaborating with PMs, Design, and, Software Development, and our Structural Engineering Team
  • Develop a deep understanding of engineering workflows through conversations, observation, and data
  • Navigate complex technical, regulatory, and regional requirements with clarity and confidence
  • Become the subject matter expert on how engineers calculate, document, search, and collaborate
  • Ship meaningful improvements that increase usability, trust, and consistency across the platform
  • Identify how AI and automation can unlock advantages that incumbents cannot match
  • Support and accelerate both our product-led growth engine and our expanding enterprise motion

If we had worked together for the last 6 weeks, you would have

  • Toured our client offices (in Australia and abroad) and talked with engineers and their team leads to understand what slows them down in real projects
  • Shadowed a customer team to experience first hand how they work, and uncover pain points
  • Identified an opportunity to modernise a workflow or interface and shipped an experiment to validate it
  • Jumped into support tickets to understand real user friction
  • Uncovered a bottleneck or inconsistent experience that could save thousands of engineers hours each week

What you will need

  • A track record of building 0 to 1 products or having founded or attempted to found something
  • A bias toward action and the ability to move forward without waiting for perfect clarity
  • A belief that great software should be both powerful and delightful
  • The ability to uncover simple solutions in complex domains
  • Strong opinions, weakly held, and the ability to influence a room
  • Comfort making decisions with imperfect data and fluency with SQL or similar tools
  • Enough technical literacy to work effectively with engineers and understand model-driven or standards-driven workflows
  • (Nice to have but not essential) Experience with engineering, construction, or compliance-heavy workflows

Why Calcs.com

Engineering and construction shape the world around us, yet many engineers still rely on outdated tools and time-consuming workflows. This creates inefficiency, risk, and frustration. We exist to fix that.

Calcs is relied on by thousands of engineers, and we are building the next generation of engineering design tools. Faster, safer, more collaborative, visually modern, and increasingly powered by AI. When we save engineers hours each week, projects move faster and the industry levels up.

This work is impactful and challenging. Standards differ by region, compliance matters, and correctness is non-negotiable. But our team is exceptional, and you will work with people you trust, admire, and enjoy.

We value ownership, autonomy, and outcomes over process. We treat each other like adults. Everyone contributes, whether it is shipping a major feature or taking out the bins.

If this role feels a little intimidating, that is intentional.
