This role builds those calculators. You would take a design standard, work out how engineers actually apply it, and ship a calculator that shows its full working. Calcs.com is used on around 80,000 projects a year, so what you build gets used quickly.
Your impact
- Ship calculators quickly. Foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, steel, and timber, all through the Calcs.com no-code calculator builder.
- Make standards usable. Translate the code provision into a calculator an engineer can follow, check, and defend without reading the clause first.
- Reach thousands of engineers. Ship tools used across the industry and iterate directly on the feedback that comes back.
- Own quality. Write tests, review calculation outputs, and hunt the edge cases so engineers can trust the result.
- Take real ownership. Act as the product and technical lead for your calculators, working with product, development, and customer success on every launch.
- Find a better way. Help build the workflows and assistants that cut design cycles from hours to seconds.
As the team grows, this role can expand into leading customer success or a regional calculator team, depending on your ambition and where Calcs.com needs the depth.
What you will bring
Calcs.com is hiring across a range of experience levels for this role. What matters is the judgment, not the number of years.
- Structural engineering knowledge. Experience with US engineering codes, standards, and design practice. You understand how engineers fit software like Calcs.com into their workflow.
- Excel or Mathcad fluency. Curiosity about Python or JavaScript helps, but neither is required.
- Clear communication. Strong attention to detail, and the ability to explain a calculation decision in writing.
- A proactive approach. You take ownership of your work and keep learning without being asked to.
- Leadership experience. Project management or team leadership experience is valued highly, though it is not a requirement.
Compensation and benefits
- COP $4,500,000 to $6,300,000 gross monthly salary, based on experience, plus a COP $200,000 monthly connectivity allowance.
- Yearly bonus of 5% based on company-wide revenue, paid quarterly.
- Possible eventual access to equity in a growing, profitable SaaS company.
- Annual professional development budget for courses, books, certifications, or conferences.
- Full-time in Bogota, Colombia. The office is a 15 minute walk from the Calle 127 Transmilenio station.
- Flexible short-term arrangements when you need to be away from Bogota.
