Engineering Calculators:

  • Project Defaults 🇺🇸: Added IRC 2024 support with ASCE 7-22 load combinations, updated live load tables, and new tornado design capabilities.
  • Wood Beam 🇺🇸: Added minimum width and depth filters in the member selector to provide better design control.
  • Spread Footings 🇺🇸: Clarified soil bearing stress descriptions to explicitly state service (ASD) load checks.
  • Steel Lintel (Angle) 🇦🇺: Added unrestrained deflection analysis for loose brick veneer lintels using effective moment of inertia calculations. This addresses scenarios where angles bend about principal axes rather than geometric axes.

Atlas Tube Connection Hub

  • HSS Trusses 🇺🇸: Added truss type connection evaluation for single-branch members with auto-detection capabilities.
  • WF-to-HSS Moment Connections 🇺🇸 🇨🇦: Fixed required axial force calculations in cut-out and diaphragm plates to use full demand rather than half demand. Also introduced direct factored load input options to bypass load combination calculations when factored loads are known.
  • HSS-to-HSS Shear Connections 🇺🇸 🇨🇦: Implemented direct factored load input options and corrected gross area calculations in shear-block cases by removing unnecessary bolt-hole deductions.
  • HSS Splices 🇨🇦: Standardized variable names and symbols, and migrated bolt notation from tension to shear for improved clarity. Also corrected spacing between shurikens on the corners of rectangular/square columns.
  • HSS-to-HSS/WF Moment Connections 🇨🇦: Added block shear cases 4, 5 & 6 for flange plates and fixed HSS column capacity checks.
  • Brace to Column 🇨🇦: Added CSA S16:19 brace capacity checks including yielding, rupture, and block shear.

Calcs Builder

Significant workflow upgrades, including the rollout of project assignments and a new support interface. Other enhancements include:
  • Combine Mode & Review
    • Removed template code restrictions, allowing you to copy widgets between any sheet templates.
    • Added search functionality and pagination to the template browser.
    • Enhanced the comment system to aggregate feedback across template versions by code.
